Dr. Fernando Ceron recieved his Medical degree from the National Autonomus University of Mexico (UNAM), and particular as Surgeon from a similar University. He is certified by the Mexican Board of General Surgery, and Mexican Board of Gastroenterology as a Digestive Surgeon.

Dr. Ceron is a previous president of the Mexican Association of Endoscopic Surgery (2004-2005), and the Mexican Society of Obesity Surgery. As a Certified Bariatric Laparoscopic Surgeon, he has performed more than 3,000 bariatric laparoscopic procedures for over 22 years, such as gastric bypass, gastrectomy, and currently laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. He is also certified to perform laparoscopic surgery adjustable gastric banding for the Hospital Sauvergarde Clinnique of Lyon France.

Dr. Ceron was the first surgeon in Mexico to perform an obesity surgery in institutional hospitals as a protocol for treatment for extreme obesity. He is one of the three first Bariatric pioneers that started Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery in Mexico and is considered a leader in Weight Loss Surgery in Cancun, Mexico.

Dr Cerón is a highly-accomplished surgeon and well-recognized in his field. He stays up-to-date with the latest techniques, and is an active member of professional organizations such as the International Federation for Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Diseases (IFSO).
